Welcome to The River
Plantation Fire Departments' official website! We provide
Fire-Rescue and EMS services to the residents of Emergency Service
District #5. We are a combination department located southeast of
the City of Conroe in Texas. We hope this site will help give you
a better idea about the newest department in Montgomery County.
01/09 - ADDITIONAL
PERSONNEL HIRED
The Department has hired
three (3) more duty crew personnel. These personnel along with
volunteers will staff
Station 171 located in The River
Plantation Subdivision during the day. Funding for these personnel
is provide from the sales tax that the district now collects.
Additional personnel and hours will be added as funds become
available. Volunteers will continue to respond out of Station 171
at night.
The Department only hires
personnel that are certified from the
Texas
Commission on Fire Protection for firefighting, and
each have a minimum of Emergency Care Attendant from the
Texas Department of State Health Services
for medical care.
SALES TAX PASSES
The voters of
MCESD # 5 voted for ESD # 5 proposition on May 10,2008; to
increase local sales tax from 6.25% to 8.25%. The extra 2% will be
used to increase the amount of paid firefighters on duty.
The money
will also be used to staff Station 171 located in The River
Plantation subdivision whenever these funds become available. This means
both stations will be staffed with paid personal around the clock.
